Atlanta International Airport Transfers

There are a range of different options for getting between Atlanta Airport and Atlanta city center, whether you’re going to or from the airport. These include rental cars, buses, taxis, shared-ride shuttles and vans, hotel shuttles, limousines and trains.

Buses:

The MARTA public transportation system operating in Atlanta provides bus services as well as trains. There are a vast variety of routes.

ATL Airport has a widely used bus station. This is served by Southeastern Stages, Internacional, Turimex, Red Coach and Greyhound. The address for this bus station is 6000 N Terminal Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30320, USA.

Greyhound Flightlink can be found in Terminal North, on the lower level. From the baggage reclaim zone, you can take the escalator down. To reserve, you can call 1-888-287-6359 or visit their website at www.greyhound.com

Taxis, Shuttles and Limousines:

The average price of a taxi is $30 per person to Downtown Atlanta, $32 to Midtown and $40 to Buckhead. Outside of Atlanta Business District, a meter computes the rates. These are $2.50 for the first 1/8 mile and $0.25 for each additional 1/8 mile. If you need the taxi to wait, they will usually charge $21 per hour.

Alternatively, you can take a shared-ride shuttle, which depart every 15 minutes. These take passengers to Clayton, Cabb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett Counties. You will find these between the North and South Domestic terminals, which are outside of the ground transportation area.

Other shared-ride shuttles can take you cross-region, to Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These depart every 30 minutes.

Another option is shared-ride vans, which depart every 15 minutes. These can take you to Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead. For Downtown, this costs $16.50 per person, $18.50 per person for Midtown and $30 per person for Buckhead. You can find shared-ride vans at stalls 3 to 10.

Free shuttle services are almost always provided by hotels near to ATL, meaning that your transport may be totally free of charge. Check with your hotel to see if they offer this service. You will find hotel shuttles on the Purple Aisle of the Ground Transportation zone. This is at the very West end of the Domestic Terminal.

If you would like to travel in comfort, consider taking one of the 300 limousine companies operating at ATL. Please make your reservation directly with the limousine company. You can find all companies listed here: http://apps.atl.com/Passenger/GroundTransportation/Limousines.aspx

Trains:

Inside the Domestic Terminal, you will see MARTA’s train station. There are four lines for you to choose from, but the Red and Gold lines are the only ones travelling directly to and from MARTA’s Airport station. The trains’ operating frequency are between every 10 and 20 minutes, depending on location. You will need to purchase your MARTA fare with a Breeze ticket or Breeze card. Breeze tickets are only valid for single use and cost $1. Whereas, a Breeze card can be reloaded for 3 years and costs $2. Any one-way MARTA fare costs $2.50 for a single one-way trip.
